NetSpot is a comprehensive wireless survey tool for Mac users, which allows collecting, visualizing and analyzing Wi-Fi data using any MacBook. In just a couple of clicks you can load your area map, point to your location on the map and start collecting Wi-Fi data around you. NetSpot creates heatmaps of your wireless network, showing you dead zones without coverage, so that you can place hotspots (Access Points) correctly. Using the visualized map of collected wireless data, you can also see channel overlap, which will help you to optimize your Wi-Fi network.

All editions of NetSpot include signal-to-noise ratio and signal-to-interference ratio heatmap visualizations, Discover Mode to collect live Wi-Fi data, unlimited survey projects, support of 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WLAN, 2.4 and 5 GHz channel bands, and automatic detection of AP locations. Upgrade to NetSpot PRO or Enterprise and gain the ability to use NetSpot for commercial purposes, 13 additional heatmap visualizations (including frequency band coverage, PHY Mode coverage, quantity of access points, download speed, upload speed and wireless transmit rate), hidden network scanning, export capabilities and more. Please note that the NetSpot version available here has more capabilities than the one available in the Mac App Store.
